Faraday’s Folly
The first book of The Scottsferne Chronicles
My name is Annette. Rex is my gorgeous German Shepherd. After we find a skeleton in the barn of the property I’ve just inherited on the Bellarine Peninsula, a neighbour tells me there are rumors of a mineral spring somewhere on the land. I am determined to discover the truth about the skeleton. Was my own father involved? Or his best friend who sold him the property? My search takes Rex and me on a road trip that takes us to a remote opal mining town in South Australia. Along the way, we meet David and his grandfather Henry (Pops) Dawson. What they teach me about dowsing encourages me to search my new property for the mythical mineral spring. Can it provide the basis for the Scottsferne Spa and Wellness Centre I dream about establishing?

Rumors of Roderick Hall
The second book of The Scottsferne Chronicles
Rumors about the derelict house I inherited after my mother’s death, were made worse by the discovery of a skeleton in the adjacent barn. Solving that mystery almost cost me my life, but as the beautifully restored house is now my new home, I’m eager to learn more about it and the history of Millers Track, the dirt road on which it stands.
My approach to Amelia, proud owner of Roderick Hall and president of the Scottsferne Historical Society, is initially rebuffed. When a mutilated body is discovered on her extensive property, I reach out to support her and we become fast friends. As police struggle to identify the corpse, more rumors emerge, and gossip abounds. The recovery of a long-lost book provides fresh rumors about my old house, and Scottsferne’s history. It also brings Amelia’s heritage into question, and resurrects the legend of a lost Spanish treasure on Victoria’s shipwreck coast; but is it fact or fiction? It is Rex, my faithful canine companion, who eventually leads the way to discover answers to rumors and bring fugitives to justice.

Pennie
The Pennie Irvine Series – Book 1
Living on the streets at seventeen, that was me. A minor incident with the police was enough to get me thrown out of home. I filled a backpack with a few belongings, said goodbye to my friends, and started hitch hiking across Australia. I’m glad I’d learned about street fighting – two years on the road showed me a girl on her own doesn’t have to play fair. After I found and lost Steve, my life changed, forever.

The Baby Farm
The Pennie Irvine Series – Book 2
In this exciting sequel to “PENNIE”, learn what happens to Pennie Irvine after she leaves her new-found friend, Steve Rogers, in a coma in the Dubbo Hospital.
Convinced he cannot survive she forges a new beginning in the Sydney suburb of Woolloomooloo. At the Burlston Hotel, her work ethic soon wins the admiration of owners, Bob and Bernie. Their support and generosity prove crucial when Pennie accidentally becomes involved with the obsessive Reverend Williams and his equally fixated wife, Beth.
Has she bitten off more than she can chew when she agrees to help Senior Sergeant Patrick Steele in his efforts to solve a long-running case against the Mission of St. Gerard’s Church?
How will she survive when both the Reverend Williams and Kings Cross mobster, Joe Luca, conspire to kill her?

The Paris Connection
The Pennie Irvine Series – Book 3
Do you believe in coincidences?
All Pennie Irvine wants is to give her friend, Chris Tonkin, the chance to study at the world-famous French school for parfumiers. So, why does her arch-enemy, mob-boss Joe Luca, turn up in Paris at the same time?
What is his connection with the Corsican Mafia, Albania and LAVA?
Pennie hasn’t seen Steph Laskarina since they both escaped from the insane Reverend Williams and his besotted wife, Beth. So, why is Steph suddenly appearing around Paris tourist attractions before she finally seeks Pennie out at the bar where she works, but doesn’t have time to explain?
We know by now that Pennie is no shrinking violet. When one of Joe Luca’s henchmen tries to use her as a shield, she deals with him, of course! And, when she walks away from the murder and mayhem of Paris, why does she suddenly return to Sydney to embrace a new career and to build a business in a, perhaps not altogether unexpected, field?
And, what about her son, Daniel’s, father?

The Bridge Motel
The Pennie Irvine Series – Companion Novella
Steve Rogers is the backpacker Pennie befriends as she passes through the New South Wales town of Orange. He’s the hero who rescues a baby from a car smash but ends up in the Dubbo hospital in a deep coma. Pennie is forced to leave him behind when a doctor warns her Steve may never recover or may end up a vegetable if he ever comes out of the coma.
This is Steve’s own story of his troubled journey as he slowly recovers from his extended episodes of retrograde amnesia.

Learning, By Degrees
University hazing. It’s really just a bit of harmless fun, isn’t it? Everyone has to go through it, right? Nobody gets hurt, really, and ‘O’ week in the universities of Sydney Australia is no different to anywhere else in the world. But how much can one man suffer before he snaps and seeks revenge?
Was it really the outrageously degrading induction that led to all the killings?
When people start dying in a manner which imitates all aspects of that induction, it should be easy to identify the killer. Right?
But when a skilled hacker sets out to reveal false clues to protect a friend and then further muddies the waters by throwing dirt at a corrupt policeman, nothing is as it seems!
‘Learning – By Degrees’ is the first mystery in a new series featuring Pennie Irvine’s son, Daniel, and his close friend Gerald Wembley. Set in Sydney, Australia, it is a book to stir the senses and make you question the morality of our political and business leaders, and whether there will ever be another politician you can trust.
